Most owners do not want to do their own books. They want to know, without digging, whether last month made money, whether the sales tax is handled, and whether anything is waiting to bite them at tax time. That is what our bookkeeping service delivers, every month, for small businesses across Garden Grove and Orange County.
What is included each month
Books kept current
Every bank and credit card transaction is categorized and reconciled to the statement. Vendor bills, customer invoices and owner draws are recorded where they belong, so the balance sheet means something.
A profit and loss report you can read
One page. Revenue, cost of sales, expenses by category, net profit, compared to last month. If a number looks off, we say so in a short note rather than leaving you to find it.
Sales tax filed
If you collect California sales tax, we calculate what is due from the books, apply the right district rate for each city you sell in, and file your CDTFA return on your assigned schedule. See our sales tax filing page for the detail.
Year-end review and reconciliation
Before your return is prepared, Kathy Nguyen, EA, reviews the year. After the return is filed, the books are reconciled to it so both records match and next year starts clean.

How it works
- Free consultationWe look at where your books stand today, what you collect and pay, and what you want to see each month. You get a fixed monthly fee and a start date.
- Setup and catch-upWe connect or collect your statements, set up the chart of accounts, and bring any behind months current so the first report is accurate.
- Monthly rhythmYou send statements and receipts. We reconcile, file sales tax, and send your profit and loss report with a short note on anything worth your attention.
Who this is for
Owner-run businesses with roughly one to twenty employees: restaurants and cafes, salons and barbers, auto shops, retail stores, contractors and trades, medical and dental practices, and professional services. If you have fallen behind, that is normal and fixable. Catch-up bookkeeping is where many of our client relationships start.
Payroll and sales tax are usually part of the same engagement so the figures flow straight into the books. See payroll services if you have employees.
Why an accountant at bookkeeping rates matters
Many bookkeepers record transactions correctly and stop there. Our books are set up and reviewed by an Enrolled Agent who prepares tax returns, which means the categories, the owner payments and the year-end entries are done the way the return needs them. The result is a lower tax preparation bill, fewer surprises, and books that stand up if the IRS, the Franchise Tax Board or the CDTFA ever asks to see them.

Questions clients ask us
What do you offer in your bookkeeping service?
Monthly profit and loss statement reports, sales tax filing, and a year-end financial review. Your transactions are categorized and reconciled every month so the report reflects what actually happened in the business.
Do you do year-end reconciliation after we file our tax return?
Yes. After your tax return is filed, we reconcile the books to the return so both records match. That keeps next year clean and avoids carrying errors forward.
Do you represent us if we get audited?
Yes. Since we prepare your books, we represent you if an audit happens. Kathy Nguyen is an IRS Enrolled Agent, which means she can represent clients before the IRS.
Do you return our records at year end?
Yes, we return client records on request. We normally keep records for up to three years and then return them to you.
How much does bookkeeping cost?
It depends on transaction volume, number of accounts, and whether payroll and sales tax are included. We give you a fixed monthly figure after a short consultation, so you know the cost before you commit.
Do we have to come to your Garden Grove office?
No. Many clients work with us remotely across Orange County and beyond. If you prefer to meet in person, our office is at 12112 Brookhurst St, Suite 8 in Garden Grove, open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
